Programme of events for 2010

The Committee of the UK Chapter is pleased to provide the programme of events for 2010 as follows:

  • Monday 18 January 2010:  The Hon Margaret Beazley AO, Judge of the New South Wales Court of Appeal; Lecture on "Duties of Care: Do they exist in an outsourced world?". Joint meeting with the Professional Negligence Bar Association. Held at Doughty Street Chambers.
  • Wednesday 5 May 2010 at 6pm: The Hon Justice Ken Handley, Judge of the New South Wales Court of Appeal; Lecture on "Res Judicata". Joint meeting with the Chancery Bar Association. To be held at the Old Hall, Lincolns Inn.
  • Wednesday 2 June 2010 at 6pm: The Hon Justice Michael Kirby AC, CMG, recently retired judge of the High Court of Australia; Lecture on "Judges should not select judges". To be held at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
  • Wednesday 2 June 2010 at 7.30 pm: Annual Dinner, with guest of honour, the Hon Justice Michael Kirby AC, CMG. To be held at the Old Hall, Lincolns Inn.
  • Thursday 22 July 2010 from 6pm: Annual Summer Party, to be held in the penthouse suite of the New Zealand High Commission, Haymarket, London.
  • [date to be confirmed] "The Fall Out from the Global Financial Crisis and Corporate Governance". A Panel discussion of the key themes and consideration of the state of play from a UK and Australian perspective. To be held at Herbert Smith.
