Credit Crunch Panel Session

17th July 2009

On Thursday 25 June 2009 the UK Chapter of the AALS held a panel session on the theme  “Credit Crunch”: some important legal implications.

The panel was chaired by Rowan Russell of Mallesons Stephen Jacques, a member of the UK Chapter Committee.  The other panellists were Graham Nicholson (Chief Legal Adviser Bank of England) and Marc Hutchinson and Robin Ogle, both partners at Slaughter and May.

The panel discussion took place under the “Chatham House Rule” but as advertised  the topics included recent banking legislation including the ban on short selling and the implications of the Banking Act 2009.

We are very grateful to our panellists and to Slaughter and May for generously hosting the panel discussion.  We also thank Mallesons Stephen Jaques and Slaughter and May for their work in organising the evening.
